User-friendly test-kit for assessing the presence and level or soluble salts on blast-cleaned surfaces prior to coating. This unique method conforms to ISO8502-6 and 9 standards displays the results in milligram per square meter.
The test-kit consists or a digital conductivity meter, 20 Bresle Samplers, disposable cups and all other accessories.
The kit also contains the equipment to determine the contamination or the blast-media in use.
134A Chloride Ion Test Kit for Abrasives

Chlorides deposited on a surface by contaminated abrasive during blasting can cause a coating to fail prematurely. Contamination can build up, particularly if the blast media is recycled several times.
134A is an easy to use, accurate field test which determines if your abrasive is contaminated with chlorides and thus prevent costly surface-related failures.
Chloride Ion testing can now be achieved quickly and accurately using a novel extraction method, based on the CHLOR*EXTRACT? solution.
134S Salt Detection Kit for Blast Cleaned Surfaces

Chloride Salts left on the surface before the first coat is applied can result in the coating system being forced off the surface by corrosion or blistering before the full life of the coating has been reached.
To ensure that the chloride has been removed it is essential that the surface is tested before the coating is applied.
134W Chloride Ion Test Kit for Water/Liquids
Product Information
Coatings can fail due to chlorides being deposited on a surface by contaminated water during pressure washing, UHP water jetting or wet abrasive blasting.
The Elcometer 134W is an easy to use, accurate, field based test which determines if your wash water is contaminated with chlorides and thus prevent costly surface coating failures. It can also be used to monitor the recycled water (after it has been applied) to establish how effectively salt removal is occurring.

Bresle patch
Product Information

Background
Surface contaminants, such as salt, may cause major problems and increase maintenance costs for vessels, industry buildings and steel structures in general. Coating failure such as blistering and corrosion may be the result of a too high level of salt prior to painting. The Bresle method is commonly used to measure the level of surface salts.

Sampling and measurement
For sampling, a so-called Breslepatch is used, according to a method described in the International Standard ISO 8502-6. The chemical analysis the sampling solution can be analysed in various ways, one quick way to do this on-site is by conductivity as described in ISO 8502-9.

Equipment
All you need for sampling is Breslepatches, a syringe and needle, deionised water and a beaker/measuring glass. For the analysis you also need some kind of instrument, for instance a conductivity meter. In our kit you will find all you need for a complete measurement of total soluble salts according to ISO 8502-9.

130 SCM400 Salt Contamination Meter

Soluble salts on a surface are absorbed into a special filter paper soaked with distilled water. The Elcometer 130 measures the conductivity of the wet paper, calculates the salt level and displays it in ug cmˉ2 .
